Launch of the Egyptian Society for Combating Non-Communicable Diseases: "Aims to Reduce Deaths by 25%

“Reducing 25% of total deaths caused by non-communicable diseases” is the declared and specific goal of the Egyptian Society for Combating Non-Communicable Diseases and raising awareness against atherosclerosis, which was announced at a press conference attended by professors of cardiology, internal medicine, diabetes, endocrinology, and nutrition

In his speech, Dr. Hani Ragi, a cardiology consultant at the National Heart Institute and president of the society, said that 80% of deaths in Egypt and the world are caused by non-communicable diseases, including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, etc., noting that “atherosclerosis” is the number one killer in Egypt and the world, and therefore there was a need to develop preventive and awareness plans to combat this killer

"Awareness of 'Non-Communicable Diseases'... Meeting of the Egyptian Alliance and Qena Physicians Syndicate

The Qena Physicians Syndicate, in cooperation with the Egyptian Alliance for Combating Non-Communicable Diseases and the Upper Egypt Diabetes Association, organized a scientific meeting for Qena physicians to raise awareness about non-communicable diseases and infectious diseases, as well as how to confront and solve their problems

Professor Adel Abdel Aziz, President of the Egyptian Alliance for Combating Non-Communicable Diseases and WHO Advisor for Diabetes, said that the meeting brings together the Egyptian Alliance for Non-Communicable Diseases, the Upper Egypt Diabetes Association, and the Qena Physicians Syndicate, and the goal is to talk about non-communicable or non-infectious diseases
